Riverside Arts Weekend Receives Grant From Cook County Arts

Riverside Arts Weekend's (RAW) Board of Directors is happy to announce that our yearly art fair is the recipient of a one-time Covid-relief grant from Cook County Arts.

Cook County Arts is a $5 million pilot arts initiative funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The pilot focuses on mitigating the lingering negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and strengthening the suburban arts sector in the long term.

“As with so many things, Covid had a significant impact on Riverside Arts Weekend. We have been working hard to rebuild following the two years we lost to Covid,” said Board President, Charlie Zia.

“We are a very lean organization and are fortunate to have generous sponsors that help to fund the costs associated with hosting our two-day art fair. Receiving these additional funds means a lot to our team,” said Board Member Erika Vazzana. “This will allow us to build up an emergency fund and do a bit more advertising than we’ve been able to do in the past.”

Riverside Arts Weekend was one of 100 nonprofit arts and culture organizations in more than 30 suburban Cook County municipalities to be awarded a grant. Grantees come from an array of disciplines, from theater to dance, to history and arts education.
