Artist Spotlight:
Doug Besser AxisEarthenworx
Doug Besser of AxisEarthenworx creates functional ceramics that beautifully blur the line between everyday utility and fine art.
Doug’s philosophy is simple: everyday objects can both function and have meaning. Each piece is hand-thrown in high-fire stoneware, then shaped, trimmed, and finished with layered glazes that move and settle in the kiln. The process balances control with unpredictability, allowing fire and material to leave their mark. The result is work that is both durable and expressive: objects designed for daily use that quietly gather meaning over time.

Darlene Hofstra Sun Sea Sky Designs
Riverside Arts Weekend is thrilled to feature the beautiful, nature-inspired creations of Sun Sea Sky Designs in this year’s artist donation raffle! Crafted by self-taught jewelry artist Darlene Hofstra, each piece reflects the vibrant beauty of the natural world. Darlene draws inspiration from everything she sees around her, infusing her jewelry with a deep appreciation for the environment and a passion for using genuine gemstones known for their warmth and healing qualities.
For this year’s raffle, Sun Sea Sky Designs has generously contributed a stunning Orange Aventurine pendant necklace, valued at $54. This piece perfectly highlights Darlene's artistic vision and is a wonderful addition for anyone who appreciates handcrafted jewelry with a soulful, organic touch.

Artist Spotlight:
Linda Horton Photography
Linda Horton likes to say she was "born" a photographer. She travels throughout the city of Chicago, and the world, creating images with her unique vision. Linda then produces the prints herself, using archival inks and papers, with the utmost attention to quality.

Linda has generously donated a framed 11x14 Archival Giclee print valued at $69 for RAW’s Artist Donation raffle. This photograph captures one of three sculptural pieces located on Northerly Island, which were masterfully crafted from discarded Cadillac car parts by sculptor Dessa Kirk. Through Linda Horton's lens, the rugged, recycled metal of the automotive past is transformed into a poetic study of form and environment.

Handcrafted by MC Marc Czerwinski
We are excited to feature a unique contribution from Marc Czerwinski in this year’s RAW Artist Donation Raffle. Marc is a retired tradesman from Northern Illinois who turned his lifelong skills toward woodworking six years ago. Under his brand, Handcrafted by MC, he creates high-end pieces highlighting the natural beauty of exotic hardwoods. Unlike standard big-box items, Marc’s work focuses on a luxury aesthetic and true Midwestern durability.
For the raffle, Marc has donated a personalized charcuterie board valued at $80—a solid, handcrafted masterpiece designed to be a stunning centerpiece in any home.
